Switching to Protx
If you are already trading online but wish to change your payment service provider, switching to Protx is a quick and simple process. Our solutions can provide you with high quality, flexible and cost effective payment processing.
To start trading online with Protx you will need to take the following steps:
- Set up or re-design you website to display your goods and/or services. If you are considering re-designing your site, or you need a web developer to integrate Protx into your existing site, Protx works with a range of web developers and shopping cart solutions who can advise you on the best way to set up your site and integrate with Protx according to your budget. Please see our partners section for further information.
- Obtain an Internet merchant account with an acquiring bank so that they can process your payments. If you are already trading online with another provider and you would like to switch to Protx, you will need to inform your acquiring bank of your intentions so that they can make your merchant account available for Protx to use. Please see our merchant accounts section for further details on the banks we work with.
- Visit our products section to select the right payment option for you.
- Complete our online application form and download the right integration kit so that your developer can simply connect your website to our system.
If your website is already established and you do not wish to suffer any downtime during the changeover period, you should arrange to set up a new merchant account with your bank to use with your Protx account. In fact, some banks insist on this to avoid any issues.
Setting up a new merchant account to use with Protx will allow you to keep your existing merchant account with your old provider active while your Protx account is set up. You can then simply switch to the new set up once integration and testing have been completed. This will avoid any downtime on your website.
If you decide to take this route, it is advisable to keep your old account active for 30 days following the switchover, so that you can process any refunds or deal with any queries relating to the old payment system with minimum effort.
