Launched in 2001 as an online business, cable-shop.co.uk is the internet's one-stop shop for all hi-fi and home cinema cables. We are a company owned and run by a hi-fi enthusiast, and that is why we are in a unique position to see things from the music/home cinema lover's perspective.


Company History

We started off as a small venture focused on selling a select number of specialised hi-fi and AV cables. We had one simple aim, to provide customers with the highest levels of customer service, supply only the finest cables, and at reasonable prices. We advise customers on how to get the best out of their systems, and believe that a good cable will give them the ability to appreciate the qualities of their equipment to the maximum.


The Challenge

Because our vision was always to run an online shop, we decided to launch our business and the website at the same time. We believed that the majority of our customers would be internet savvy, and we also offered a mail order service for those who preferred to speak to a person, either before or during the ordering process.


The Solution

In 2003, after two years of steady growth, we decided to have our website professionally redesigned and re-launched. We had initially been using WorldPay as our payment service provider, but decided that it was time to look into the different PSP's on the market. We also spoke to our web developer who recommended that we use Protx - he had used Protx before and was impressed with the straightforward integration process.


Implementation

The transition from WorldPay to Protx was extremely smooth, and the testing and integration process built our confidence in using Protx right from the start. Results
